“I value Scratch because it's where I first started coding, a journey that has expanded from just Scratch to other languages. I love how with coding I can make whatever I can imagine, and Scratch is what sparked that for me.”— Scratcher leahcimto
When Elsie's daughter Hanna joined Scratch, Elsie wanted to ensure it was a safe and moderated space for her child. What she didn’t expect was how her “introverted” child would flourish by connecting with a caring community of young artists, stepping into leadership roles, and expressing herself in bold, creative ways through her projects.
“[Scratch] has really high potential because once you are into this community and you start learning about the process, the collaboration offered by this community, and most importantly, the leadership that the kids can potentially develop — that is truly valuable, not only on Scratch. It’s something that the kids can own and grow going forward outside the platform. I think that is very valuable for parents to explore.”– Elsie & Hanna
