Scratch Lab is where the Scratch Team tinkers with Scratch to add new creative possibilities. Scratch Lab is our sandbox for everyone to try out these new ideas, and give us feedback. We invite you to play and let us know what you think!
ScratchJr is an early coding app that enables younger children to create their own interactive stories, animations, and games. By snapping together visual blocks, kids can make characters move, jump, dance, and sing. Designed with pre-readers in mind, ScratchJr uses icon-based blocks so children can start creating even before they learn to read.
ScratchJr was co-created by Prof. Marina Bers and Prof. Mitchel Resnick and is a collaboration between the DevTech Research Group at Boston College and the Scratch Foundation.

With the PBS KIDS ScratchJr app, children can use programming blocks to create interactive stories and games featuring their favorite PBS KIDS characters. The app is available for free on iPad, Android, and Amazon tablets.
